Pauline's square #6

Didn't like this pattern at all. It looks nice but the stitches are nasty. My edges really need improving on this but I'm not doing it again. Cream is the colour used in this square.

Wendy's Square 6

Here is my Square 6, had a bit of trouble with the ptbl at the beginning but then after finding a better way to do it it went quicker, still took me all week to do. Sorry about that.

Krystal's Square 6

RHSS in Buff.

This square put the emphasis on Learn for me. I didn't have any trouble with the ptbl - I knit continental and it was really only a matter of changing the angle. It didn't feel awkward at all. What I did have to learn, though was how to create even tension. My first two tries at this were horribly messy - it looked like I have never knit before in my life. The ptbl and ktbl really exaggerate any variances in tension you might have.

All of my square to date have been using size 5 needles. This one, I required bumping up to size 8's so that I could ensure that even stitch was securely tensioned to the needle. Now the stitches look mostly neat, but you can see where I got a little TOO much tension and the rows are shorter. All the sections have the right number rows, but you can see the shorter sections where I was tighter.

I did exactly the right number of rows and it came out to the right length, but this still required some tugging to get to the right width. I'm not sure if I was supposed to add stitches on to make it the right width without tugging or not - no one seems to have the answer?

Tracy's square 6

I finished square 6 early this week, it was fun to make and I like the rib pattern of the first half.

Karen's square 6

Here is square 6 completed. I don't really like doing the purl in the back loop... I found it very awkward... This one is about 9 inches wide and almost 9 inches long. Do I have any two squares the same size??? I will really need to work with the borders to get them all the same if I want this all into one afghan. Or maybe I'll make a few lapghans instead...

Laura's Square 5

Here is my square 5. I liked this design, but never could do it without peeking at the pattern!

Sherri's Square 6

Square 6 is comprised of alternating bands of twisted and crossed ribbing. It was a challenging square to make as learning to purl through the back loops was a bit (no, a lot) awkward. I changed the height of the first and last repeats to make the pattern a bit more symmetrical.

Tracy's square 5

I finally managed to finished square 5. I enjoyed this pattern, once I figured out the pattern. It looks narrower than tall, but when pulled slightly it seems fine.

Shelby's square 5

This is my square 5. I haven't blocked it yet, just stretched it out and I see I didn't get it 100% even on the side. Blocking will take care of that.
This is a very stretchy pattern. Easy to catch on to and it is reversible.

Cindy's Square 5

Here is square 5. Despite the fact that it looks a little oddly shaped, it really is square. I found the pattern quite easy, but I never really figured out how to knit this without looking at the pattern. the yarn is Caron pounder in off white.

Karen's Square #5

Here is my fifth square complete. I like this one but agree that the top looks funny. It did all the way along when I was making it. This one is again about 9.5 inches across and a bit over 9 inches long.

Donna's square 5

I finally got this loaded. I finished my square a few days ago. It was actually pretty easy to do. I was surprised.

Wendy's Square 5

Here is my square number 5, I liked this pattern, very easy to do. Not sure I like how the top looks though. Have you noticed that the pattern looks funny at the top because of how the square finishes.

Krystal's Square 5

This is in TLC Essentials in Aran. This square kept shrinking and shrinking in width. I used the 49 stitches to cast on, and worked loosely, so I just tugged as I went and made it 8.5" long. I left off the remaining 3 rows after the three repeats. I hope it won't pull when it's joined to the others in the afghan. I had to use the pattern the whole way - I never could get it down in my head. LOL!

Sherri's Square 5

Here's mine. Again, using RHSS in cornmeal.

Pauline's square #5

Finished this square last night. Really like this pattern. This is in beige. I cast on 45 stitches, it looks a little narrow but blocking will bring it up to size. Also didn't need the last 3 row repeat it suggested.
I'm thinking I might only use the 3 colours and join with the 4th. Plain squares in cream and beige and 2 colours in Heritage red and alternate between the cream and beige. Joining in black.

Shelby's Square #4

This was a fun square to make once I caught on to the pattern. I would make it again.

Shelby's Square #3

After I got into the first few rows of this pattern, I really liked it.

Karen's Square #4

Here is square four complete. I seem to have settled into a 9 1/2 inch square guage with this yarn and the 4mm needles. I will have to make square one over again to make it a bit bigger.

This is a fun project!! I am really enjoying learning the different stitch patterns!

Donna's square 4

Here is my square 4. It was an easy pattern once you got past the first 10-20 rows. It seemed to go a bit quicker than the other squares too.

Karen's Square 3

Here is my third square (finally). This one is also about 9 1/2 inches square. I still have to tuck in the tails... I think I may have to remake the first one since it is smaller than the others... We shall see as I continue making them. On to square 4!

Cindy's Square 4

Here is my square 4. Once I got going on the square, I found it quite easy. The yarn is RHSS in frosty green. I decided to add another color to my sage/off white/ dark brown selections, because these textured squares didn't work well in the sage. It is too dark for the texture to show up well.
I couldn't get a very good picture of this square for some reason, so the color looks more gray than it really is.

Wendy's Square 4

Here is my Square number 4. Im not happy with it, its not measuring 8 inches and I had to add 12 rows to it to bring it up to size but it does look out of proportion. This colour is hard to photograph as well its not coming up clearly either, sorry about that.

Laura's Square 4

Here is my Square 4. I had to add two rows to the top to make it square so its a little unbalanced but no one but us would probably notice.

Sherri's Square 4

Here's my number 4 in RHSS cornmeal.

#4 Lattice with Seed Stitch

Krystal's Square #4

This is my LTK square #4. My tension was too tight at the beginning, and it made my rows too short. I think it's funny that the width isn't affected as much as the height from knitting tension. I loosened up a bit about halfway, but I still had to add 8 rows to get it right. If I tug it a little at the bottom, it comes out the perfect size now. This is in RHSS Buff - I really like this pattern!

Tracy's square 4

I like the pattern in this square. My photography skills leave a lot to be desired.

Pauline's square #4

I finished this square today. It was pretty easy as long as I kept my mind on the subject. This one is in cream.

Donna's Square 3

I finally finished my square 3. I was worried I wouldn't get it done in time. It was really easy to do. It turned out about the same size as my other squares.

Cindy's Square 3 (at last!!!!)

Here, finally is my third square. Seeing the basket-weave pattern emerge from just a series of knit and purl stitches was fun.
The yarn is Caron pounder in off white.

Wendy's Square 3

Here is my square, quite liked this pattern.

Laura's Square 3

Here is my square three in periwinkle. Colors are off because its dark out today.

I enjoyed this square, and my tension is getting a little better. Still a ways to go though.

Tracy's square 3

I finished my square last night and really enjoyed this pattern. It is a bit smaller than the other two, but not by much.

Pauline's square #3

Pauline's square #3

Sherri's Square 3

This was a fun square to do and I remember that it didn't take too long either. Yes, it was one of those I did last spring. Mine is worked up in RHSS Cornmeal.
